A wonderful sunny week at home and down in London.
On Monday I had a series of meetings with colleagues covering a range of issues including the local elections and the work of the Conservative Women's Organisation - later in the day I joined the Prime Minister at no.10 for an event to mark the Coronation.
On Tuesday I had the pleasure of hosting the Cold Chain Federation for a reception to celebrate their work on skills. The cold chain sector is a big employer in the constituency so it was great to see that they're going from strength to strength.
I also had a briefing on Alzheimer's for Dementia Action Week and dropped into a session on the future of the British Space Industry.
Wednesdays are always busy in Westminster and I took part in the Science and Technology Select Committee hearing into the CAA's update on the British Space Sector including testimony from the Science Minister.
After PMQs I took part in a debate on BBC Scotland before getting briefings on Kellog's Breakfast Clubs and the Northern Trains Franchise before rounding off the day with a meeting with the Chancellor.
On Thursday I had the very great privilege of attending the Polaris Symposium, hosted by the First Sea Lord. It was fascinating to hear from experts from both sides of the Atlantic about the importance of the Strategic Nuclear Deterrent.
On Friday I had a series of meetings with constituents back in Heywood and visited residents at Derek Walker Court in Brimrod to see their new garden.
On Saturday I had more constituency meetings and dropped in to Middleton Martial Arts Academy to meet with the team there and see the work they're doing in the community - I was hugely impressed by their dedication to the town amd look forward to working with them in future.
It's a gorgeous day out so make the most of it and I'll see you all next week!
