A nice full week in Parliament, catching up on the issues you raised with me.
I started the week before heading down to London by joining worshipers at Manchester Cathedral for a celebration of the new King.
A lot of you have written to me about animal welfare, especially the Kept Animals Bill so it was a pleasure to get together with the Dogs' Trust to discuss their work and support their campaign against puppy smuggling.
Another issue people have raised with me is awareness of Huntingdon's disease - despite having a higher prevalence that MND in our communities, it is often overlooked, so I'm grateful to everyone who asked me to meet with the Huntingdon's Disease Association in Parliament. It was a worthwhile and educational meeting which will help me to help those living with the disease and their families.
I also met with the Prime Minister at no.10 for a wide-ranging discussion followed by a celebration of the amazing work done by everyone involved in hosting Eurovision in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine.
I rounded off my meetings this week with a briefing on diabetes in Heywood and Middleton. It's a very common but manageable condition and it was great to learn what support is available.
The rest of the week has been in and out of Delegated Legislation Committees, which, whilst not the most glamorous part of politics are the "bread and butter" work that keeps the country ticking over and our laws relevant, so I always think of them as time well spent.
I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine and Eurovision (despite the results!) and I'll look forward to updating you on a packed week next Sunday!
