As you'd imagine, quite a lot of this week has been dominated by events in the news, culminating in the resignation of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.
That doesn't mean that the normal business of Parliament stopped and I was pleased to be able to get in a number of important meetings.
On Monday I was fortunate enough to have a meeting with the businesses delivering HS2 - given the significance of the project for both our local and regional economy, I was really pleased to hear about their plans for investment and jobs in Greater Manchester.
Later on in the week, I joined colleagues for a event celebrating women in the workplace and a discussion about what more can be done to address structural imbalances in business. I also met with representatives of the aviation industry to understand the concerns and challenges they face.
Also this week I had the privilege of attending the Beating of the Retreat at Horseguards Parade - it's wonderful to be able to celebrate our country's military and their place in our national identity.
On Thursday I travelled north for constituency appointments, followed by a visit to the DWP team at Job Centre Plus in Middleton where I saw first hand how they're helping people back to work with exciting new schemes.
On Friday I met with the team at Phoenix Brewery in Heywood to see the exciting plans they have for the site and it was especially nice to be able to pull a pint of their ale for myself (which I needed after the goings on earlier in the week!).
Finally, this weekend I joined local Councillors in Bamford for fĂȘtes at St George's and Bamford Chapel.
The next two weeks promise to be very full before recess, but I'll be focusing on what really matters which is my duty to you.
