Another fast paced week down at Westminster began on Monday with my regular briefing from the Police. My team and I speak with local officers to understand the challenges facing our communities, but also to feed back what you've been telling us so that we can make sure resources are going where they're needed.
On Tuesday I started the day by asking the Health Secretary for assurances that the extra money raised for the NHS would be going to frontline services. Many of you have been in touch to say that you've had to wait for treatment or have struggled to access a GP appointment and I want to make sure that's where new funds will go.
Later in the day I met with the Prince's Trust and Marks and Spencer to hear about how they're creating opportunities for young people in the North West.
On Wednesday I asked the President of COP26 about Hydrogen opportunities before marking the 40th Anniversary of the liberation of the Falklands by joining colleagues and Veterans at a church service at Westminster Abbey's St Margaret's Church.
Later in the day I joined in a debate on the forthcoming rail strikes and asked the MPs who are backing the disruption if they'll be compensating people who are put out using the many thousands of pounds of donations they have taken from Rail Unions.
Later in the week I travelled North for more meetings in the Constituency before heading over to Wakefield to help colleagues in the forthcoming by-election.
Next week is a bit shorter and more focused on local issues, so I'll look forward to letting you know what I've been up to next week!
