On Monday 14th September 2020 I supported the second reading of the Internal Trade Bill as the Government sought to move towards a timely exit from the European Union. Tonight [16th September 2020] I spoke in the House about why I will be supporting the Government in the passing of this bill and why I believe that this is the right thing to do for our country, our union, and the people of Heywood and Middleton that elected me to represent them in Westminster.
This was a long sitting but one which was incredibly important. As I noted in my speech the opposition benches were barely occupied, just a handful of Labour and other opposition MPs bothered to take part, showing that they have no interest in this matter or representing the people of the UK.
