This Week I spoke at Prime Ministers Questions. I asked the Prime Minister if he would join me in recognising the Royal British Legion for their safe and sensible services of remembrance. He agreed that they made a wonderful job of remembering and that their efforts were extremely important.
Good news this week that Government will be providing more funding to support the most vulnerable, with an additional £936,916 for Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale. More funding to support children, families and the most vulnerable over winter.
I was pleased to see that Greater Manchester has received over £15.8 million to boost cycling and walking. More investment in this area is something that I have been contacted about by a number of constituents, so I am sure that they will be pleased to see money being brought here for that purpose.
My office has spoken to a number of our local retailers in Heywood this week. Following on from the troubles that they have been experiencing, I wanted to get their feedback and thoughts. I was pleased to share their comments with our local policing team.
This week I was also appointed as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice. I am very pleased to have been given this opportunity and I am looking forward to posting some special content about what the job involves over the coming weeks.
Remember that my office is still available during lockdown, so if you have any issues or concerns that you would like to share with me please email me at [email protected] or call my constituency office on 01706 538262 and I will be happy to assist however I can.
