A quieter, but certainly not quiet week this week.
The main political business this week was the Financial Crimes Bill which will, amongst other things, prevent foreign nationals abusing our Financial Services sector to launder their money.
We've seen from the amount of Russian money in London that shady individuals are all too keen to abuse Britain's business-friendly economy.
I used the quieter timetable to get in more meetings based on your letters to me.
This week I had briefings on cancer treatment, defence jobs and accessibility on public transport.
Also this week, I was fortunate enough to be invited to Lancaster House by the International Trade Secretary as she launched her strategy to boost our trade relationships around the world.
Carrying on with my participation in the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, I had the opportunity this week to meet with members of the Generalship Course run by the Army which prepares leaders for senior command and later in the week I visited 77 Brigade to see the important work they do in the cyber realm.
Back in the Constituency, I had a number of meetings, including a discussion about a film produced locally in support of the NHS, a walkabout in Roch Valley to see how local people are working to protect the environment from vandalism and littering and a meeting about planned changes to rail franchises.
I also had the chance to pop into Catherine's in Norden to congratulate the team on their nomination in my Small Business awards where they were nominated for their work as a community hub.
Please keep letting me know what matters to you so I can keep having relevant meetings and do let me know if you run a business locally and you'd like to discuss your work.
