This week has, understandably, been dominated by the tragic case of Awaab Ishak and the failures of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing.
Over the course of the week I have had several important meetings, including time with the Secretary of State and his team, with local stakeholders and a debate in the House of Commons on the future of social housing.
Awaab's death was a wholly avoidable tragedy, resulting from the inaction and disinterest of the RBH board. It was disgraceful that the CEO did not resign and is similarly unacceptable that the board have also not done the right thing yet.
On Friday I joined the Leader of the Council, Tony Lloyd and senior council officials in a discussion with the Housing Ombudsman and Social Housing Regulator for a discussion about what comes next - it's clear there are no easy answers, but there is a strong consensus for change.
Also this week, I had meetings at Westminster about the future of clean energy and bringing green jobs to our area, I had my regular catch-up with the team at Hopwood Hall College and met with the team from Diabetes UK to talk about improving health in our area.
Also this week, I joined the Speaker and other Lancashire MPs in marking Lancashire Day in Parliament.
Back in the Constituency, I've been joining many of you in marking the start of the Festive Season and it was a pleasure to join people across Norden and Bamford at their Christmas Fairs this weekend.
