Following last week's budget, Parliament met for general debates on the measures proposed by the Chancellor - I was in the Chamber on Monday in support of the day's theme of making Britain a Science and Technology superpower.
By supporting British innovation and research, we can future proof the economy and create exciting new opportunities for future generations.
I also met with UK Research and Innovation for their Parliamentary drop-in to discuss how their investing in regional communities like ours to make sure we all have a chance to play our part in the next industrial revolution.
The other big piece of legislation before Parliament this week was the Statutory Instrument enabling the Windsor Framework in Northern Ireland. I support the Framework and see it as a sensible, realistic way to deliver Brexit whilst protecting the Good Friday Agreement.
Also this week Greater Manchester Conservative MPs met with Thérèse Coffey the DEFRA Minister to discuss our concerns about the Mayor's handling of the Clean Air Zone and asked her to intervene in order to give GM residents some certainty whilst the Mayor plays games with their lives and livelihoods. I was encouraged by her honest and constructive tone.
I also met with the Community Lottery Fund. The Fund has already helped local groups access hundreds of thousands of pounds in funding and I'm keen to help even more.
I also had meetings with Citizens' Advice and GM Integrated Care this week, following up on recent questions about services in our area - I'll continue to follow up on the issues you raise with me.
Finally this week I met with BAE Systems to tour their advanced apprenticeship programme. Around a hundred people across Heywood and Middleton work for BAE currently, but their apprenticeship programmes are available to many, many more. I'm keen to make sure we're in the mix for these exciting jobs.
Next week's big business will be the Illegal Immigration Bill and I'll be following up on more of the things you've contacted me about.
Until next week, stay safe.
