The penultimate week before Summer Recess and Parliament has been considering important legislation before we break up. The main business of course was the Illegal Migration Bill, which will tackle the influx of small boats. The Commons have voted down 18 Amendments from the Lords and the Upper House is now considering which to send back for further debate next week.
Also this week I've been keeping up with requests from constituents, with meetings about the Hormone Pregnancy Testing scandal, a briefing about City and Guilds and a meeting of the APPG on Women in Defence to discuss the MOD's LGBT review.
I also had the opportunity to join a panel discussion about Levelling Up with young policy-makers - it was fascinating to see how varied interpretations of the policy are.
Later in the week I had a chance to catch up with the MoJ team and raise local issues, following up on some important cases raised by you.
All in all a very varied week with some mammoth voting sessions and next week promises to be the same.
At time of writing I'm just back from opening MidFest and I'm looking forward to lots more events over the next few weeks.
