Heywood and Middleton MP, Chris Clarkson has launched a new campaign aimed at highlighting the efforts of local people who have gone above and beyond to help others during the Covid-19 crisis.
Chris said: "Over the past few weeks I have seen and heard so many amazing and heartwarming stories of people who have gone above and beyond to make life better for others during the covid-19 crisis. These people are all local heroes in their own way and I believe that we should be recognising them for their efforts and celebrating their stories."
"In these tough times it is clear that the solidarity that we have as a community has just become stronger. Every day we rightly hear about the incredible efforts that continue to be made nationally, but I want to celebrate the local heroes who make a difference in their street or the local community, the truly 'Unsung Heroes'.
Nominations can be made by anyone and can recognise any individual, group or business. It might be someone sewing scrubs or helping their neighbours with their shopping. It could be a community group which has been offering help and support to people who are self isolating or a local business that has stepped up to do their bit for our communities. If you know someone that deserves to have their efforts recognised please take a moment to nominate them at www.chrisclarkson.org.uk/unsung-hero
