I appreciate the concerns that some people have raised at this difficult time regarding motor neurone disease (MND) not having been included on the list of conditions which identify someone as ‘extremely vulnerable’ to Covid-19.
I am aware that in addition to the 1.5 million people identified in England with conditions already centrally identified, GPs are currently identifying other patients who are clinically extremely vulnerable. These patients will be contacted directly and will be advised to shield.
This means that if someone with MND is identified by GP to be clinically extremely vulnerable they will be added to the list, and will be able to access the cross-Government support package.
If you believe that you should be included in the extremely vulnerable group, you are advised to contact your GP.
